  Artist Statement

I am actually a plein air painter at heart but when I started to travel the midwest and New England I developed a passion for painting cows. I started with photographs and as soon as I painted them they transformed into colorful works of art! Their expressions, stance and relationship to their environment makes them interesting and often very expressive subject matter. I love the way the light hits their backs and the different colors that reflect off their coats. They bring me such joy!
